Join us by supporting this milestone 250 years in the making. Your gift will help support the creation of the largest and most inclusive commemoration in our history, complete with an array of programming at the local and national levels that inspires all Americans to take part.

Our commission is currently gearing up its plans for our celebratory events. Freedom Fest 250: Harrison County, Texas will offer tourists and citizens time to celebrate over a 17-day period from June 19, 2026, through July 5, 2026.

Three themes for three 3-day weekends of events are being evaluated to take place around the Historic Harrison County Courthouse in downtown Marshall. The themes are as follows:

  • The Abraham Lincoln Effect (June 19-21): Uniquely Texas, Juneteenth celebrates overcoming the struggle for freedom from slavery.

  • The Boogie Woogie Effect (June 26-28): Uniquely Harrison County, this celebration highlights the global impact on music since Boogie Woogie was created by unknown slaves in the years that followed the original Juneteenth Freedom Celebration.

  • The Thomas Jefferson Effect (July 3-5): Uniquely American, this July 4 celebration marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Your charitable gift will help fund these celebration events, which includes plans for a premier Drone Light Show by Sky Elements on July 4, 2026.
